Crash first steps

Collect the facts and protect transportation before details disappear.

Use this when: A student, friend, or family member is in a crash and needs the practical next steps organized.

First move

If anyone is hurt or in danger, call 911 first. After safety, collect photos and insurance information.

Log in for request help

Do first

  1. Move to safety if possible and call emergency services for injury, danger, or blocked traffic.
  2. Exchange names, phone numbers, licenses, insurance cards, plates, and vehicle details.
  3. Write the timeline while it is fresh, including passengers, witnesses, road conditions, and ride needs.

Save as proof

  • Photos of vehicles, plates, damage, location, road conditions, signs, and traffic controls.
  • Police report number, insurance claim number, tow receipt, repair estimate, and rental or ride receipts.
  • Messages with the other driver, insurance, school, employer, tow yard, and repair shop.

Log in when

  • The student is the victim and needs the record organized before settlement talks.
  • The student may be at fault and needs help reducing practical fallout.
  • A ride, repair, tow, insurance, or loaner-car problem affects school or work.
